On Tuesday, Nov. 2, students noticed that the Fox & Lox Bagel Shop replaced the Library Brew in the James A. Cannavino Library. Located on the second next to the library entrance, the bagel shop is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It accepts various forms of payment, including U-Pick, Thrifty Cash, Marist Money, Cash and Debit/Credit.

Fox & Lox offers a wide array of bagels that can’t be found at other dining locations on the Marist campus. Some of the popular flavors include plain, sesame seed, cinnamon raisin and whole wheat; there is even a gluten free option. There are a variety of cream cheese flavors available, with everything from plain, to garden vegetable, to strawberry and the specialty lox cream cheese. Other toppings such as nutella, butter and peanut butter can be ordered as well. Not only does it serve bagels, Fox & Lox has a selection of muffins and cookies for sale. Beverages are also available like hot coffee, iced coffee, lemonade, iced tea and other bottled beverages.

I had the chance to visit Fox & Lox during its opening week, and I had a very pleasant experience. The location was decorated in eye-catching fall decor, making the space very appealing. Despite heavy traffic due to student excitement and the location still being new, I received my order timely and with positive customer service. I ordered a plain bagel toasted with butter, and the staff made sure to fulfill my request of having light butter on the bagel; I also ordered a lemonade to drink.

The quality of my food was fantastic, and I will definitely find myself at Fox & Lox again. It is affordable with delicious bagels to accompany any sort of study session or walk to class. It is a good addition to campus dining locations because of how it is uniquely focused on bagels, which is unlike anything we currently have on campus. Bagels are a fan favorite food that not every dining location offers, and with its convenient spot in the center of campus as well as its variety of flavors, Fox & Lox will definitely be a hit with Marist students.
