New Year, New North End Dining Options

Offering a taqueria station, make your own parfaits, smoothies and pizza, but no more noodle bowls!

The North End Dining Hall has once again spiced up their menu by offering a new variety of options for students who are looking to expand their palate. Many of the new choices being offered allow students to craft their own meals - wraps, pizzas, smoothies and parfaits.

The customizable salad section has been replaced by the taqueria, a delectable Mexican grill that includes quesadillas, tacos and more. North End Dining has also introduced more gluten free options including the vegan Beyond Burger.

The wider range of food options is not the only change at the dining hall - the hours have changed as well. It is open Monday to Friday from noon to 9:30 p.m., Saturday from 5-8 p.m. and closed on Sunday.

Sodexo has made a lot of changes recently by adding a more diverse variety of food and introducing food trucks in place of the earlier closing times of the dining hall. Although we have not seen the food trucks yet, they will be located in the Fontaine parking lot from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Friday and 4 to 6:30 p.m. as well as 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturday.

But what do students think of all the changes being made?

“I love having new options. I was getting tired of eating the same things. I wish the prices for the Rossi’s sandwiches and pizza deals stated the same as last year,” said Ashana Neale ‘20.

“Building D is a vibe, I am happy that they are promising to have açaí available more consistently, can’t wait for the food trucks,” said Aliyah Wilson ’19.

“I like the addition of the wraps. But it’s a bit upsetting that they’re only available for a few hours a day. I haven’t tried the new tacos yet but a part of me misses the noodle bowls,” said Carly Horowitz ‘20.

“I love the Building D dining hall. I love the balsamic chicken pizza and all the Rossi’s sandwiches. I love the açaí bowls too, but I wish they were bigger,” said Allie Texter ‘22.
