Security Beat: Spring’s Final Fling of Mischief
An incident of larceny was reported to security on April 14, where a student reported that their $700 bike was stolen from in front of Sheahan Hall. The investigation is currently open and pending as more information is discovered.
On April 9, an incident of criminal mischief occurred inside Marian Hall after a student reported to security that someone had ripped off their door sign. The incident has since been closed due to a lack of further investigative angles.
Over at Champagnat Hall the same day, a student reported noticing graffiti on her room number plate. The incident is currently open and under pending investigation as more details are discovered.
Another criminal mischief case occurred on April 19 in a West Side building on campus. A student reported that their photo on a poster had been altered. The incident has been closed and referred to Student Conduct.
A drug law violation involving marijuana was discovered by security at a Lower New Townhouse on April 12. The items were immediately confiscated by security, and the case has been closed and referred to Student Conduct.
On April 13, a criminal mischief incident was reported in the Foy Townhouses after shaving cream and food debris were discovered in the doorway of one of the houses. The incident has since been closed and referred to security.
An aggravated harassment case was reported to security on April 14 in an undisclosed location on campus. The situation involved a student who claimed they were being harassed by their boyfriend via electronic communication. The incident has been closed and referred to Marist Title IX.
On April 22, an incident of larceny involving off-campus theft was reported to security. The incident is currently under investigation by the Town of Poughkeepsie Police and, as a result, has been closed by security.
