Security Beat: Broken Glass and Dining Hall Dilemmas
On April 7 at 3:12 a.m., an on-duty resident director informed the Office of Safety and Security of a criminal mischief incident involving the front entrance doors of Leo Hall. After a review of security camera footage, as well as confirming with the MidHudson Regional Hospital, it was found that a male student broke the glass door and sustained minor injuries. The broken door was immediately secured by security until it was able to be replaced by Maintenance. The incident has been closed and referred to Student Conduct.
Security was notified of an off-campus assault on March 31. No further details have been provided, and the incident has since been closed and referred to law enforcement.
An incident of larceny was reported by a Gourmet Dining employee on April 7. The employee reported to Security that their wallet was stolen from the men's locker room in the main dining hall. The incident is currently open and under pending investigation.
Another incident of larceny was reported by Gourmet Dining involving the theft of food items in the North End Dining on April 3. The incident has since been closed and referred to Student Conduct.
A drug violation involving drug paraphernalia was discovered by a resident assistant on March 28 in Ward Hall during a room check. The incident has been closed and referred to Student Conduct.
An intoxicated student was found in possession of a forged Massachusetts driver’s license on April 7. The license was then taken by Security, and the case is now closed after being referred to Student Conduct.
The ongoing laundry theft epidemic continues, as a student reported that their clothes had been stolen from the Midrise Hall laundry room on April 7. The incident is currently open and under pending investigation.
A Title IX employee emailed Security on March 29, informing them of an ongoing dating violence incident between two students. The location of the incidents has not yet been disclosed, and the incident has been referred to Student Conduct.
