SGA Announces Results of Fall Elections

On Wednesday, Ethan Solury ‘26 was elected Marist College Student Government Association (SGA) Freshman Class President. Flavia Geraci ‘26 and Natalie Leone ‘26 were elected Class of 2026 Vice President and Secretary, respectively. Stacey Abbeo ‘25 was named Distance Representative.

Solury ran a spirited and ultimately successful campaign, using in-person events and online content to encourage students to vote for him. Upon winning, Solury’s friends and supporters shouted with excitement and pride.

“I am looking forward to working with every single one of my peers and enriching our Marist experience,” said Solury.

Solury will serve alongside Vice President Geraci, who shared a similar sentiment. “I cannot wait to work with the team,” said Geraci, who also ran a strong campaign, putting up posters around the college, stressing her plans as vice president.

Class of 2026 Secretary Natalie Leone is focusing on the experience of her classmates. Leone expressed determination to make freshman year an “awesome and supportive one.”

Finally, it was announced that the Distance Representative was Stacey Abbeo. When asked about what she is most looking forward to this year, Abbeo said, “I’m excited to work with my amazing team to make Marist a great school.”
In all, there is a general consensus among the new members: they are all eager to get started and to make this year as great as possible for the Class of 2026 and all here at Marist College.
