UPDATE: Fitness, In-Person Dining Services on Pause Following Multiple COVID Cases
This story has been updated with breaking news.
Marist suspended in-person dining and temporarily closed the McCann Center following multiple COVID-19 cases identified this weekend. Classes will continue as scheduled, Marist administrators told students in an email Monday evening.
This announcement follows Leo and Sheahan precautionary quarantine, which was announced Sunday evening. Students in Sheahan Hall have since been released, but Leo Hall remains in its quarantine.
“In the last 24 hours, our medical and contact tracing teams have been identifying and testing those who could have been exposed to COVID-19. While we are awaiting the test results, the students who tested positive will be isolated and quarantined,” the message from the administrators included.
As of 6 p.m. Monday night, the COVID-19 Dashboard reported 21 active cases of COVID-19, with 10 active cases in isolation at home or off campus and 11 in isolation housing on campus.
