“feelslikeimfallinginlove” by Coldplay

Recommended by: Emma Denes, Editor-in-Chief

Description: The first single released off of the band’s upcoming album “Moon Music.” I just can’t stop listening to this song, and it’s my way of impatiently waiting for the album’s Oct. 4 release. Combining the band’s signature melodies with uplifting lyrics, this is one song you’ll want to keep singing along to.

“First Light” by Hozier

Recommended by: Erin Holton, Co-Managing/Co-Features Editor

Description: This is the finale track to Hozier’s album “Unreal Unearth,” and it is a perfect one. The album is full of moving instrumentals and lyrics that inspire stunning visuals, and this song is the perfect conclusion to all of that. If you want something to listen to that feels like the ending of a really good movie, listen to this song.

“Dashboard” by Modest Mouse

Recommended by: Andrew Breen, Co-Managing Editor

Description: For a band with large, sweeping reflective albums about isolation, illness and religion, “Dashboard” is a unique track for Modest Mouse. Insanely catchy and boisterously positive, this is one of their best — furthermore, it acts as a great introduction to their sound. Producing two of the best albums at the turn of the century — “The Moon and Antarctica” and “The Lonesome Crowded West” — they are must-listens for music fans.

“I Love You, I’m Sorry” by Gracie Abrams

Recommended by: Ben Leeds, Co-Campus News Editor

Description: This song is just very catchy, and I can’t seem to get it out of my head no matter how hard I try.

“Spring Breakers” by Charli XCX

Recommended by: Luke Sassa, Co-Campus News Editor

Description: The final song on “Brat” — often called the album of the summer — this is a tongue-in-cheek track about being a musical outsider frequently snubbed by award shows. Charli strikes a facetious tone, cheekily fantasizing about destroying the Grammys red carpet, then shifting to a half-hearted verse about what she’d do if she won an award, only to quickly return to bashing award shows once more.

“Sailor Song” by Gigi Perez

Recommended by: Emma Gaecklein, City/National Editor/Multimedia Assistant

“Last Train to London” by Electric Light Orchestra

Recommended by: Kyle Esoian, Co-Opinion Editor

Description: A classic song by one of the more underrated progressive rock/pop bands.

“I Wish” by Stevie Wonder

Recommended by: Lindsey Clinton, Co-Opinion Editor

Description: This song is always on repeat for me. It has a soulful feel with really well-thought-out articulations on each chord hit.

“Gravity” by Lyric Hatezic

Recommended by: Cora Flynn, Co-Arts & Culture Editor/Multimedia Assistant

“Lobo-Hombre en Paris” by La Unión

Recommended by: Miguel Rojas, Co-Arts & Culture/Copy Editor

Description: ‘Werewolf in Paris.’ Sometimes it feels like this.

“Beaches” by beabadoobee

Recommended by: Amanda Nessel, Chief of Graphic Design

“F2F” by SZA

Recommended by: Elizabeth Baumgardner, Photo/Copy Editor

Description: Imagine you’re at Gov Ball. You are at SZA’s set, the last of the festival. Your phone is completely dead. You’re with your best friend of over 15 years. You don’t really listen to SZA, even though you have been meaning to for the past two years. Suddenly, this magical song is played. It differs from the other songs in her set, having a more rock-based vibe. Had me headbanging in the SZA pit.

“Allo” by Anastasia, Enisa

Recommended by: Lea Papakosmas, Marketing Director/Multimedia Assistant

Description: Currently my favorite Greek song, it has a fun beat and vibe, and I love dancing to it.

“For Sure” by Ethel Cain & American Football

Recommended by: Isabella Loiacono, Graphic Design Assistant

Description: This song has been on repeat for hours on end since it came out. Ethel’s delicate and airy vocals, along with the gentle guitar, make me want to make a movie, just so I can include it in the soundtrack.

“Overslept” by Faye Webster (feat. mei ehara)

Recommended by: Marisa Brown, Graphic Design Assistant

Description: This song is just such a vibe. I think all of Faye Webster’s songs are so endearing, and I truly love her vocals. I think her voice is very unique and soothing. I also love the mei ehara feature. She has such a pretty voice, and I like how she sings in Japanese — it makes the song more interesting, and it’s different from Faye’s usual work.
