Seniors Present "Our Future: Artistic Perspectives"

The Digital Media capping class for the spring semester will be presenting their group exhibition in the Steel Plant from March 28 to April 2. The opening money for the exhibition titled “Our Future: Artistic Perspectives” will take place on March 31 from 5-7 p.m.

“Our Future: Artistic Perspectives expands upon the idea that change has been the only constant over the past two years, from navigating the trials of the pandemic to facing the current reality of an uncertain future after college,” Nikki Baduria ‘22 said.

The artists have taken this time to examine and question their past experiences, where they are now, and where they hope to be in the future. The exhibition displays each students’ interpretation of the events that have shaped them. They address how they have grown throughout the past few years and how they have expressed this change through their art.

A capping course is required for every student at Marist in their specific major or discipline. The course typically addresses academic skills, values awareness, and professional issues related to particular majors. Students usually have the freedom to pick the topic of their research project and commonly work with other students in their major to complete their final product.

While there are many unknowns, there is also an excitement that comes with the uncertainty as the seniors enter the next chapter of their lives. The gallery is open from 12-5 pm Monday-Saturday.
